Vancouver in Winter

Cypress Mountain. The city has 3 close snowboarding and skiing mountains (Grouse, Seymour and Cypress), this is the best, a 20 minute drive from Downtown.

We rarely have snow Downtown in Vancouver, the city enjoying a warmer climate than the rest of Canada in the Winter, but December of 2008 was a record year, with 3 foot of snow falling in two weeks.

The snow lasted for about 4 weeks, causing all sorts of problems for a city ill prepared to deal with it.
